About Me

I earned my Bachelor's Degree at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Following that, I pursued my Master's Degree in Psychology Research at California State University, Long Beach, and then completed my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. During my doctoral studies, I had a neuropsychology emphasis under the mentorship of Daniel Allen, PhD. My research during graduate school resulted in several publications concentrating on schizophrenia, PTSD, and neuropsychology. In 2008, I finished my internship and post-doctoral training at the Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center.

I am so honored to be able to work with our local Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander population who often do not have the same access to health services.  At the Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center, I provide individual and family therapy services in the Women's Health Department. In addition, I supervise the psychological assessment program and oversee grants within the behavioral health department.

In my private practice, I continue to serve our local population by providing much needed assessment services to the Leeward coast of Oahu and to outer islands through telehealth.  I enjoy working with clients of all ages, for therapy and assessments, but only provide testing services in my private practice.  My most common referrals are related to autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, and memory impairment, although this list is definitely not exhaustive.  The majority of my patients are referred by their primary care doctors or current psychologists, but most people can receive an evaluation without prior authorization.

My Interests

When I'm not at work, I'm pursuing my lifelong passion for ballet, which I share with my daughter.  Additionally, I enjoy hiking, paddleboarding, and traveling. Among my favorite destinations, apart from Hawaii, are Alaska and Colorado. Last summer, while visiting my son in Colorado, I accomplished two 14,000-foot hikes and had the remarkable opportunity to witness humpbacks engaged in bubble feeding during my trip to Alaska.
